If the subwoofer cone is cracked badly, its best to fix and repair it now before it gets even more bigger. The crack can expand if your subwoofer hits high excursions levels if you are listening to your bass loud. If the cone of your subwoofer is plastic you can repair it with goop glue. Somthing like normal super glue you get from the local pound store will not work good enough for this repair. This is because that type of glue when dried becomes hard, which will only break after awhile when your subwoofer is playing. Goop is more a soft type of glue that forms the shape of something really effortlessly. Its great and cheap that you can pick up your local Home depot store.

Remember once you have made the repair to the cracked cone on your car subwoofer to install a protective mesh metal grill on top of it. This will prevent it from getting knocked from objects flying about in the trunk when you are driving.

1) Even though the crack is on the outside of the speaker cone, you want to place the glue behind it so that it doesn't look like a patched up mess from the front of the speaker. So you will need to remove the subwoofer from the enclosure box.

2) Once you have removed the sub from the box, examine the crack by looking through the actual basket.

3) Mix up the goop glue and using the enter of a spatual apply the glue onto the crack gently, spreading it across underneath the crack. Make sure you get good coverage across the different areas underneath the crack. You want to completely fill the crack up so there are no gaps or air that can rush out, as you don't want it to affect the sound quality.

4) Place the subwoofer upside down, so the cone is facing downards this will allow the glue to not drip off. Please allow at least 24 hours for the glue to dry properly, if you don't the glue wont stick down properly and the repair will not be good enough.

Thats all there is to reparing a cracked subwoofer cone. Its quick and easy if you have the right glue product. When fully repaired using this method, there is no difference in sound quality because the crack in the subwoofer cone is sealed up.
